Investment in Youth Services

Significant and sustained business and philanthropic investment in proven community-based youth service organizations, to help them grow their impact and drive generational change.

A $15M commitment (over three years) from the private and
philanthropic sectors for youth support services.
  • $5M for Youth Services organizations, Year 1
    • Add “Parent Service Organizations” as eligible
  • $15M for Youth Services organizations, by end of Year 3
    • Begin reporting on uses and impacts of funds in June 2023
    • Help promote best-practice models and organizations

WHO:

  • Eligible grantees will be community-based nonprofit organizations in good standing with a track-record of success in providing effective youth services

WHAT:

  • $15M total commitment:  $5M per year for three years
  • Funding from new or expanded private sector sources, including business, philanthropy and individuals (local and national)
  • Over $3.8 for Year 1 already distributed and/or secured
  • Funding will support youth services

WHEN:

  • Year 1 of full program will be July 2022 – June 2023

WHERE:  New Orleans

WHY:      Investment in our young people is essential if they are going to actualize their potential, and we are going to break the cycle of violence in our communities.  A dual approach of concurrent investment in organizations with a track record of youth service success, and increasing support for law enforcement, will drive sustainable, positive change in New Orleans.
